Whether you want to save money, cut out chemicals, or try something new, we have you covered with some great holistic approaches for grooming and beyond. These helpful resources can get you on the right track to a new beauty routine, detox, and many other great things.
Tea Tree Oil
This soothing oil has many great purposes. If you have an oily scalp, the cure is actually moisturizing it. Sounds crazy but when the scalp is dry the skin goes into overload to fix that problem while creating another one. It also has the power to ease any itching or dandruff one may have. Apply to parts in your hair and rub your head like the good person you are and let it soak in. You can leave it in overnight or just a few minutes. Just wash as you normally would. You can even drop some into your normal shampoo for a routine treatment. This stuff is great as after shave (legs, face, pits, everyone is welcome), acne treatment, foot fungus care, and even cleaning around the house! So if you worry about chemicals and what comes with them, this oil has you covered.
Coconut Oil
This oil is also very versatile. You can combine it with tea tree for your scalp or just use it on its own. This has worked WONDERS for my chronic/severe acne. But you don't need a skin condition to be nice to your face! Ladies (& dudettes who dabble in fabulous), this is a natural and effective way to wash makeup off of your face. Smear this generously onto your face and wipe off with a warm towel. It literally catches every single glob of product. To go the extra mile, combine with sugar and mix well for an exfoliation from heaven. This sweet mix can also be used on your foot heels to combat dry skin. I would only recommend this about twice a week if you have sensitive facial skin. Too much harsh rubbing can upset it. Waterless face washing sounds insane but it's the way, truth, and light. Water dries up your skin and takes away essential oils it needs to remain cute. I use coconut oil daily as a wash, regardless if I'm wearing makeup. It has lightened my acne scars, controlled oil levels, and leaves the skin feeling great (not tight like soap and water).
Braggs Apple Cider Vinegar
Our bodies are natural healers who we tend to underestimate. Using harsh chemicals can throw us off balance and leave our bodies trying to catch up. Bragg’s Apple Vinegar Cider as a toner is so effective for more than one reason. This toner makes sure you got everything off after a wash and is gentle on the skin. It balances oil production, handles existing acne, and prevents new pimples from forming. Its great for everyday use on any skin type for a healthy clean. Take a tiny jar and fill it halfway with the cider and dilute it with water (I like lemon water, which I’ll share why next). After washing your face take a cotton ball and apply this to your skin and let it dry.
Lemons
When life gives you lemons: PUT THEM ON YOUR FACE! This simple mask at night will have any dark spots and blemishes on your skin having nightmares. Only at night though! This can backfire if you sit in direct sunlight with this still on your skin. And the benefits of drinking it help, too! The bad gunk starts from within and makes its way to the surface. So drinking lemon water helps dramatically for a natural detox. It helps with weight loss, skin, and immunity. It’s also a good way to get in the habit of drinking more water. Just be advised it can wear at the enamel on your teeth so try and have it warm and after you brush your teeth. Its most effective in the morning on an empty stomach.
Jamaican Black Castor Oil
This is a beauty for hair growth. So get them edges right, eyebrows fleeked, beard sprouting, and anywhere else you feel the need to have a little thicker hair!
Quimica Aleman
I try every chance I can to convert my beautiful lady friends over to home manicures. Reason being hygiene! You wouldn’t let everyone on a packed train cart pass around your nail file, but you definitely might as well if you go to a salon. They may sanitize most tools but some just can't be cleaned, like brushes, emery boards, and foot scrubbers (yikes). This nail hardener is hard to say if you aren't bilingual, but after using it your nails will be harder than that. You’ll get strength and length after continuous use. It’s a great way to heal if your nails are left destroyed from tips. Direct application may sting if your nails are damaged, so I suggest diluting it with water and soaking at first. But I promise you will have tappable, snappable, head turning hands. And You’ll save a load of money by taking a visit to your nail lady out of your budget (which means new shoes!)
Maca Root Pills
This root works wonders for the body. It can increase your mood and energy in a natural way. It helps women with PMS symptoms and balances hormones. If you have PCOS and want a more natural approach to balancing hormones or have a thyroid issue, these help tremendously. It gives men and women a boost in sex drive and serves as a natural antioxidant booster. It even helps with the hormones responsible for anxiety, depression, and other feelings. It’s also great if you’re just looking to regulate cramps or break up with morning coffee.
